Lead Poisoning Education
Join us at the Effie O. Ellis Center (Village Green Room) for a FREE Lead Poisoning Education Event designed for expectant mothers and mothers of infants ages 0–6 months.
This community event will provide important information and resources to help families prevent lead exposure, support maternal and child health, and access mental health support services.

CARPLS provides brief telephonic legal services on almost all kinds of legal matters, including general expungements/sealings. So, at these expungement/sealing workshops, we're here to help. We don't turn anyone away and welcome anyone seeking information or assistance regarding expunging/sealing their criminal record.
New Leaf is a network of 17 Illinois nonprofits helping anyone ever arrested for a state cannabis offense clear their cannabis and non-cannabis criminal record.
If you have a current rap sheet, please feel free to bring it with you. However, if you do not have a rap sheet, you are still encouraged to come. We can talk to you about your specific situation and help get you started on expunging/sealing your record.
ALL IN NEED ARE WELCOME & INVITED
* The workshop is intended for informational purposes only, to get you started on the road to success and to introduce you - the "client" - to Legal Aid Professionals that can assist with insight and next steps with expungement & sealing.

CDPH Lead Prevention Poisoning & Healthy Homes Program
Objective: To raise awareness about the new lead exposure threshold and to develop strategies for testing and intervention
Theme: 3.5 mcg/dL’s Impact on Strategies for Eliminating Childhood Lead Poisoning
The Chicago Department of Public Health’s Lead Poisoning Prevention & Healthy Homes Program is hosting a panel discussion with our partners / stakeholders on April 17, 2025, at Malcolm X College.
This half day meeting will be a presentation and panel discussion between CDPH Lead Poisoning Prevention program, partners and stakeholders who work to reduce risks of lead poisoning and exposure to lead hazards in children and pregnant people.
