Strengthening and Healing Families

Our Adult and Family Services (AFS) department has adopted the Two-Generation (2Gen) approach to holistic family case management. We offer a supportive, trauma-informed approach to counseling for adults, children, and families in all stages of life to better handle their challenges. Our goal is to provide clients with tools to cope with intense emotional experiences, stressful situations, and tough interpersonal problems in the future.

    Collectively working with The Chicago Housing Authority, Centers provides comprehensive services for CHA residents throughout the city of Chicago. The FamilyWorks model is the cornerstone of CHA’s services for public housing and Housing Choice Voucher participants. Centers provides unbounded services such as: access to clinical services, employment opportunities, digital and financial literacy, and lease compliancy support.

    The core of the FamilyWorks program focuses on:

    • Foster Economic Independence - Assist residents on their path towards self-reliance.

    • Increase Earning Power - Assist workable adults and youth to begin or advance in their career.

    • Enhance Stability and Quality of Life - Assisting families in need of crisis services. Helping seniors age in place as long as possible.

    • Support Academic Achievement - Provide youth programing that speaks to the six building blocks of the 21st Century Learning Skills.

  • We offer a supportive, trauma-informed approach to counseling for adults, children, and families in all stages of life to better handle their challenges. We help individuals and families deal effectively with mental illness and support recovery. Our goal is to provide clients with tools to cope with intense emotional experiences, stressful situations, and tough interpersonal problems in the future. We move beyond symptom relief and toward productivity, life satisfaction, goal achievement, and improved relationships.

  • We partner with the City of Chicago to manage the daily operations of the Chatham Satellite Senior Center. Services provided at the center include, but are not limited to: Chicago Fitness Plus; Health Promotion and Wellness Education with medical providers and massage therapy; Computer Classes with Internet Access; Golden Diners daily lunch program; Life Enrichment activities (art, arts and crafts, dance, Karaoke, special events, parties, trips and tours, etc.); Information and Assistance, including benefits eligibility assessments.
